We, as members of Christ Lutheran Church, are “Growing in Christ; Going for Christ” in all aspects of our congregational life and ministry.
We, as members of Christ Lutheran Church, are a friendly congregation that welcomes and accepts all people, seeking to always reach out in service to others.
Christ Lutheran is blessed to have both full time and part time professional staff members as well as dozens of talented people serving in lay leadership roles. All of these people are dedicated to building and supporting vibrant Christ-centered ministries for our congregation and community. We are, as our mission states, "Growing in Christ... Going for Christ!"
Pastor Krister is a walking, talking multi-cultural kind of a person with a lot of stories to tell. Born and raised in Sweden to Latvian parents, he lived in Canada from 1974 until his move to Michigan in 2013. Ordained in 1991 in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canadahe officially transferred to the Southeast Michigan Synod of the ELCA in 2015.
According to Pastor Krister, he always wanted to be a pastor. He loves liturgy and church history, but loves people more than anything. The door to his office is always open, so feel free to drop in for a chat any time. Before taking on the role of Interim, in the SEMI Synod, he served five ELCIC congregations as a full-time pastor. He also led Latvian-speaking congregations, and preached in the Swedish Lutheran Congregation in Toronto from time to time. An accredited and fully trained Interim Transitional Pastor, Pastor Krister has served congregations in Grosse Pointe Park, Grosse Pointe Woods and Livonia. He has a son Niklas, born 1991, whom he raised as a single parent since 1996. He remarried on September 5, 2015 to Lela Baugh-Creighton.
