Stephen Ministry

There are times when each of us needs the care of another person, a Christian friend, a Stephen Minister!

Stephen Ministry is an outreach program of our congregation that equips lay persons to provide distinctively Christian one-to-one care to those who are experiencing many kinds of life needs and circumstances, both in our congregation and community.

“It brought me closer to a very personal God.”

We have several people who have made this commitment and have been trained as Stephen Ministers. This training includes a wide variety of topics that aid Stephen Ministers to care for the needs of others who are experiencing different crisis and troubles in living their lives. Some topics are: The Art of Listening; Feelings; Assertiveness Training; ministering to Depressed, Dying and Hospitalized People; and many more.   As one Stephen Minister said about the training - “It brought me closer to a very personal God.”   We thank those people who have answered God’s call to this ministry.

Our Stephen Ministry at Christ Lutheran is a confidential ministry: those receiving care can be sure that their identity and what goes on in the caring relationship will remain private.
