Prayer

13Are any among you suffering? They should pray. Are any cheerful? They should sing songs of praise.14Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord.15The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven.  James 5:13-15

A quiet moment of reflection. A talk with Jesus. A recited text celebrating faith. Though very different, all of these are valid definitions for "prayer." Prayer is an intentional and meaningful way that every individual — no matter of age, race or background — can deepen his or her personal relationship with God. To pray is to trust. We trust God’s promise to listen, to forgive, to renew and change us as we pray.

As prayer should be such an important part of faith lives, it is a central component of worship and our ministries at Christ Lutheran Church.
